BoX Trucks

14ft/16ft and 20ft Box Trucks

Payload

14/16ft Box Truck payload is 6000lbs (3 tons) (including cargo and passengers).

20ft Box Truck payload is 8000lbs (4 tons) (including cargo and passengers).

We feature Mitsubishi Fuso and Isuzu diesel box trucks. These are also known as “canters” and “NPR/NQR” They are equipped with ramps or hydraulic liftgates. These trucks are world renowned for their reliability, fuel economy and ease of operation. Automatic transmissions and a very tight turning radius make these trucks the best choice for experienced commercial drivers and novices alike.

Liftgate Styles

Liftgates come in different styles. Our fleet includes: tuck away and rail gates.

Tuck away

Tuck away liftgates are “tucked under” the truck until they are needed. This means they are forklift friendly. Since you cannot drive a forklift on top of a liftgate (even when lowered to the ground without breaking or damaging it) this is the best choice when using a forklift. These are a great choice when moving: a household, equipment, furniture, have limited moving space or you just prefer the versatility. You can use pallet jacks with this type of gate however rail gates are wider which gives them more space to maneuver. If you are using a forklift lift and pallet jack, definitely use this style!

Rail gates

Rail gates sit in front of the cargo area. This means that for the box trucks with rail gates, the gate must be lowered down before the cargo box can be accessed. People like rail gates because they have a large “one piece” surface area (platfom) to put your items on. These are ideal for: tool boxes, gun safes, large equipment, appliances, furniture, household and commercial moves etc

These are pallet jack, rack, and cart friendly

Liftgate load capacity

weight range is from 1600 lbs to 3300lbs depending on the truck. The standard liftgate capacity is 2000lbs (1 ton).

Rail Gate weight capacity

We have 3 rail gate box trucks. A 14ft with a lift load capacity of 1800 lbs. And two 16ft, one with a 2000lb lift capacity and one with a 1600lb lift capacity. These gate have a large one piece platform perfect for large machinery, equipment and other items.

BABY BOX TRUCKS

10ft baby box truck

Sometimes you need something bigger than a van, but not as big as a 14 or 16ft truck. We have this 10ft box truck which gives you the best of both worlds. It has a box which gives you the option of moving larger items, but its shorter and drives more like a van. It’s 10ft long and 6’ tall on the inside.

Miniature box truck for quick transportation

Reefer Trucks

7ft Reefer Truck

This is a light duty truck. The perfect refrigerated truck for smaller deliveries and events. This unit needs to be driven to get the box to the desired temperature. Once the desired temperature is reached the box holds the temperature well.

This truck can achieve the desired temperature without being driven. When parked, the box unit can be plugged into a commercial 3 phase power supply connection or run off the diesel fuel from the truck.

Essential Truck Features to Consider

When you're picking a truck for rental or leasing, knowing the key features that affect how it works and its cost is important. By understanding the specifications, safety, and efficiency of different vehicles, you can make sure you choose the right one for your needs.

What are the Key Specifications for Different Trucks?

Knowing the specifications of different trucks helps you pick the right vehicle for your cargo needs:

Size and Payload: Trucks come in different sizes, which affects how much they can carry. Bigger box trucks or flatbed trucks can handle more weight, while smaller ones are better for lighter loads.

Weight and Engine Type: The weight class of a truck and what kind of engine it has (diesel or gasoline) affect its power and fuel use.

Cargo Capacity: This decides how much cargo you can move easily. Heavy-duty trucks have more space compared to standard models.

How Do These Features Impact Rental Costs?

Rental costs depend on several truck features:

Cost and Pricing: Bigger trucks with more payload capacity usually cost more to rent. Think about your budget and rental pricing when picking a truck.

Rental Fees and Agreements: Watch out for extra fees in your rental agreement, like charges for miles driven or insurance costs.

Which Truck Features Enhance Safety and Efficiency?

Safety and efficiency are very important in truck rentals because they affect how well the truck performs and give you peace of mind:

Safety Features: Make sure the truck has updated safety features like anti-lock brakes, airbags, and stability control. Regular inspections and maintenance are crucial for safety.

Efficiency and Fuel Economies: Trucks with good fuel efficiency help save money over time. Look for eco-friendly models that are better for the environment.

Roadside Assistance: Choose rentals that offer roadside assistance, which helps in case of emergencies.

Factors Influencing Rental Decisions

How does intended use affect the choice of truck?

When you rent a truck, knowing why you need it is important. Different trucks are good for different tasks. If you're moving heavy cargo, you'll need a bigger vehicle with enough space. Businesses might need trucks to move equipment or for smaller jobs that only require a pickup truck. Before renting, think about what part of your project involves moving stuff and pick the rental that fits your needs. Choosing the right truck helps keep things efficient and saves money.

Why is location important when renting a truck?

Where you are renting a truck from matters a lot, especially in areas like Santa Cruz, CA, San Jose, and Oakland. The local area can change how many trucks are available and how much they cost. Renting within the Bay Area can save on travel expenses and fuel. Each city or territory has different rental choices and meets various needs. Knowing where you'll get and return the truck makes everything easier and less stressful.

What role does rental duration play in decision-making?

How long you need the truck affects both your budget and planning. Rental companies offer flexible terms based on time—like daily, hourly, monthly, or long-term options. Short-term rentals work well for quick jobs, while long-term periods are best for ongoing projects and often cost less per day. Think about how long you'll need the truck to avoid wasting money.

Insights into Pricing and Discounts

What factors contribute to rental pricing variations?

When you rent a truck, many things can change the price. The size of the truck is a big factor. Bigger trucks usually cost more. How long you keep the truck and the time of year can also make a difference. Truck rentals can be pricier during busy moving seasons. Where you rent the truck from matters too—prices can be different in cities versus rural areas. Be sure to check your rental agreement carefully. It will tell you about any extra costs, like fees for driving extra miles or adding services.

Are there discounts available for long-term rentals?

If you rent a truck for a long time, you might get a discount. This can help you stay within your budget. Many companies have special deals if you lease a truck for longer. These promotions can lower your overall cost. Check your rental agreements closely to find any savings. Also, look out for promotional offers that could make your rental even cheaper.

How can I compare prices effectively?

To compare truck rental prices well, follow these steps:

Know What You Need: Decide what size truck you need and how long you'll need it for.

Get Several Quotes: Ask different rental companies for their prices.

Look at All Costs: Don’t just focus on the base price—include mileage, insurance, and other fees.

Ask About Deals: See if there are any promotions or discounts available.

Compare Options: Use online tools to compare different rentals by price and features.

By doing these things, you can find the best deal for your truck rental.

Enhancing Your Rental Experience

How can customer service impact your experience?

Customer service is very important for a good rental experience. A company with a good reputation for customer support can make you more satisfied. Reliable customer service means your questions or worries are quickly answered, making everything easier. Giving feedback after your rental helps the company improve and shows they are trustworthy.

What additional services can be beneficial?

Many companies offer extra services that can improve your rental experience. Roadside assistance is a great option in case you have problems on the road. You might also want equipment rentals like GPS units or moving supplies for added convenience. Towing services can help if you're moving heavy items. Think about getting optional services like insurance to keep you covered during your rental.

How does truck maintenance affect the rental experience?

Regular vehicle checks and good truck maintenance are key to a safe and reliable rental. Well-maintained trucks are dependable and less likely to break down. Choose services focused on safety and reliability to show their high standards. By picking companies that care about maintenance, you can have a worry-free trip, knowing your vehicle is in great condition.

Environmental Considerations for Truck Rentals

Why consider eco-friendly options?

Choosing eco-friendly trucks can help lower the carbon footprint. These trucks have better fuel efficiency and emit fewer pollutants. This supports sustainability and aligns with environmental policies aimed at protecting our planet. By choosing greener vehicles, businesses contribute to a cleaner environment and might even get benefits like eco-friendly incentives.

What are the benefits of low-emission vehicles?

Low-emission vehicles offer numerous advantages. They produce less pollution, improving air quality and public health. Using these vehicles shows a company's commitment to sustainability and following environmental policies. Additionally, they can boost the brand's reputation, attract eco-conscious customers, and save money through better fuel efficiency.

How can sustainability practices affect trucking logistics?

Making trucking logistics more sustainable involves practices that reduce the carbon footprint. This can include planning routes better to use less fuel and choosing trucks that are eco-friendly. Following these environmental policies not only helps the planet but also improves how operations run. Sustainable logistics can cut costs and make the trucking service more reliable, giving companies a competitive edge.
